Mauritius
One of the most beautiful places we've ever seen.
Charamel Nature Reserve
This was one of our most unforgettable experiences on our trip.
Aside from the stunning beaches Maritius is home to a beautiful natural wonder "Seven Coloured Earth".
Here you can see millions of years of natural history.
The seven distinct different colours of earth are so incredible to see. Charamel also boasts one of the most impressive waterfalls in Mauritius. You can hike down this waterfall and swim in the pool at the bottom which is an unbelievable experience but will cost you around three hours of your time (depending on your fitness) but is absolutely worth every second.
You can also sample some of the fresh cane juice which is still traditionally made in front of you while you wait. Cane juice is incredibly sweet and unique, and offers a needed refreshment in the heat of the jungle. One glass is more than enough for two people! When I say it is sweet, I mean IT IS SWEET.
We were also fortunate enough to meat one of the local resident "Toto", the giant tortoises can be visited just next to the seven coloured earth.
The outstanding natural beauty of Charamel will leave you in awe, and you'll almost forget about the pristine sandy beaches that the island also has to offer.
Grand Baie
One of the most talked about places in Mauritius is Grand Baie.
